August 2012 Goals
Accomplishments this Month
New Goals New Year
My goals are going to be geared towards my classroom, students, research, and my paper.
Collection of Data
I carry a teacher’s daily memo book around with me constantly. I try to record everything - not that I get everything, but most things. After class I read and reflect on how I felt and what my students did, didn’t do etc. I also have students write a reflection each day during the end of class. It seems my group does not care about privacy - they are more concerned about being able to write reflections on their computers. I gave them a choice (lol)
Is it coming straight from their hearts - at this point probably not. We have not had a day of cool weather - early outs the entire first full week of school. Crazy, crazy, crazy!!!!
Reading
I am still reading articles. I believe a person could go on and on and on - reading articles. It is hard to say enough!!! Stop!!! I mean it. I need to read in a more organized fashion. I know I need to review again and arrange in my piles or sections. This is probably the hardest thing for me to do. So my goal will be to read in an organized, flowing manner. Right!!!!
Writing
Much like my reading, the beginning of writing is very messy. I have sections started and adding to sections and where should it fall, and should I even have it in my research and, and, and. As you can see my goal is to focus on the important questions and literature. It seems as if some things leads to another and I am addicted. How do I stop? My goal is to say its okay to stop - unless very important or connects to what I have already.
Reflection
So, so important for me. I have to make time each day to quietly write my reflection. This helps me with my research and my students.
